Operating on a hybrid basis with our Head Office in Manchester, Deansgate, you will work directly with the Learning Manager, Group People Director, and key stakeholders across the group.

BTG is a people focussed business. As Instructional Designer, you will facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies through the design of eLearning pathways.


Responsibilities include:

  • Curating learning content and assessing relevant learning and development options.
  • Stating instructional end goals and creating content that matches them.
  • Visualizing instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
  • Conducting instructional research and analysis on learner theories and contexts.
  • Creating exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Creating supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Deciding on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessments.
  • Maintaining project documentation and course folders.
  • Staying current on industry wide and competitor trends within Professional Services and L&D

We are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Visual design skills and ability to storyboard.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Passionate about data driven insights.
  • Proactive and action oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
  • Knowledge of the full learning cycle.
  • Experience using design/authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Storyline or Gomo.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
  • Proficient using the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in creating instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint ideal.
