Description

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and well-connected strategic business leader to join our client in the role of Strategic Market Lead - Transport & Mobility.

The purpose of this role will be to deliver long-term business growthfor our client in the Transport and Mobility sector.

Our client has a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire, where you will be required to spend on average 6 days per month, with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, one of their regional offices, or spend more time atHQ.


In this role you will:

  • Maintain a holistic understanding of market drivers, disruptions, key players and strategic opportunities, gathering information from key individuals and teams inside OS and from relevant external organisations
  • Act as a thought leader in the sector, building and owning strategic relationships with key customers and partners that are critical to OS success, owning the strategic relationship and influencing at the highest levels. ?
  • Get involved with social media, industry groups, conferences and develop relationships with other thought leaders internally and externally to support OS growth in the sector outside of our existing customer base ?
  • Define and coordinate how OS's combined products and services can be tailored to sector needs & opportunities and work with relevant OS Proposition teams to ensure strategic opportunities can be realised
  • Work with relevant Business Units to support and enable business growth according to the developed strategy, keeping an external lens on how to maximise value to OS and our customers
  • Be measured by the longterm commercial success of OS's holistic activities in that sector, updating strategy and longterm revenue forecasts as events unfold
  • Own and lead Discovery & Go to Market planning and execution (including responsibility for early business wins) for innovations and new propositions that are unique to that market sector
  • Deliver inyear revenue targets for relevant innovations
Some of the responsibilities & experience we are looking for are:

  • Wide-ranging, strategic understanding of the Transport & Mobility Market Sector and the factors affecting the business of key players in this sector, in the UK and globally
  • Relevant national and international governing policies and global trends impacting sector evolution (including from national governments and international agencies such as the UN)
  • Market disruptions and opportunities, and how these vary across different global regions
  • Key factors impacting business strategies of major players in the sector
  • New entrants / innovative disruptors and how they are changing the sector
  • Well networked and recognised as a leader within the market sector
  • Experience in Strategic Business Development
  • Establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with senior stakeholders in Governments and Businesses (globally)
  • Identification of strategic opportunities for business growth, and the ability to translate that into relevant and achievable new product/service requirements that exploit core OS capabilities
  • Ability to influence and lead multiple organisations to collaborate towards international opportunities
  • Experience in complex sales
  • Development and negotiation of logical "win/win" business models involving the delivery of complex softwarebased products and services that deliver longterm profitability
  • Evidence of leading / securing multiple business wins for innovative new products and services that deliver significant multiyear growing revenues
  • Strong people leader: experience interacting with CxO / directors, product managers, sales and technical staff motivating and inspiring people around clearly elaborated opportunities
  • Indepth understanding of the innovation process within a business context; the evolution of ideas into new products and solutions
  • Indepth technical knowledge of at least one innovative Geospatialbased software product or service and its evolution from early idea to atscale business product or service
  • Direct experience leading in a startup business focused on softwarebased geospatial solutions
