Description

We are recruit for a Relief Kitchen/Domestic Assistant who will work in both departments, 16 hour contract per week with potentially overtime available.


Kitchen Assistant Job Specifics:

Hospitality Services_

  • Support the Head Chef/Chef to ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality.
  • Support the catering team in ensuring the nutritional content of the meals provided cater for the dietary needs of all residents.
  • Ensure that all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure that the cleaning schedules are maintained according to company policies and procedures.
  • Attend all Health and Safety, food hygiene and COSSH training updates as required by the company to ensure that safe practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Assist the Head Chef/Chef with meal service to the residents
  • Assist the Home Manager with providing refreshments for the residents and guests to the home.
  • Ensure the public areas such as dining rooms and café are clean and stocked appropriately.
  • Work with the Head Chef/Chef to ensure there is sufficient crockery, cutlery and glassware in the home.
  • To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
  • To respond in a timely way to residents who are distressed (calling out, calling for help, knocking or making noises that suggest the need for support) or seek assistance if you feel unable to respond appropriately.

Domestic Assistant Job Specifics:

Housekeeping & Domestic Services_

  • Ensure that all washing, drying and ironing for residents' personal clothing and linens are completed with the utmost care.
  • Carry out repairs to clothing as needed
  • Liaise with Head Housekeeper and relatives if clothing needs to be replaced or needs major repairs
  • Ensure soiled linen is handled in line with infection control policy and dealt with efficiently
  • Ensure that all clothing is returned to the residents' rooms in line with their choice in an efficient manner.
  • Liaise with the Head Housekeeper and the care team to ensure that sufficient clean linen is available.
  • Ensure that the laundry equipment is routinely cleaned and maintained in line with policy.
  • Ensure regular meetings with Head Housekeeper with regards to laundry issues.
  • Ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance to the cleaning schedule.
  • Ensure team work is applied at all times to provide a clean and welcoming environment for the residents, guests and visitors.
  • Maintain the highest standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Support the Head Housekeeper in reporting any defects or damage to furnishings within the home.
  • Ensure that products being used have been specifically selected for the purpose.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction from the Head Housekeeper or Home Manager.
  • Complete cleaning documentation in line with company policy
  • Ensure that infection control policies and universal precautions are followed at all times.
  • Carry out deep cleaning in line with Silvercrest procedures
  • To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
