Our client one of Europe's busiest ferry port, handling 33% of UK-EU trade, worth £144bn per annum.
Each year more than 2 million freight vehicles, 2 million tourist vehicles and 10 million passengers pass through the Port.
You will be responsible for carrying out civils, infrastructure, and pavement maintenance works & projects on the port's estate utilising the port's designated framework contractor(s) in your capacity as the project delivery manager (civils framework).
Youwill assist the Framework Manager with managing and coordinating the Ports Framework Contractors, including the Buildings, M&E, Civils, and Paving contractors.
This will involve acting as a manager's replacement when necessary and serving as the project managerfor several Framework initiatives.You will organise and manage a team of project engineers and other professionals working in a matrix organisation to deliver improvement projects, proactive maintenance plans, and reactive maintenance on both marine and land-basedassets in collaboration with our framework contractors.
You will oversee the legal and business facets of the framework contracts alongside the internal Framework Commercial Manager and Framework Manager.
You will scope, plan, deliver, communicate, and auditthe undertaking of all works under the Framework in collaboration with our Framework Partner(s) and our internal engineering team.
Additionally, you will manage your own projects that you will deliver within or outside of the Framework. For some strategicprojects, cross-disciplinary collaboration will be necessary.Skills and Qualifications:
- HNC level or above in civil engineering or construction related qualifications and APM PFQ qualification or similar Member of the Association for Project Management or equivalent 5 years + experience of Project Management in a civils environment Knowledge and experience of working within an NEC contractual environment Experience using MS packages, along with a high competency level within Excel and have a good understanding of project planning tools Understanding of Tendering and Contract Administration,along with a good level of cost and budget management Good understanding of Risk Management and compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards Hold a SMSTS or similar qualification Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
