Sharpsmart are currently recruiting for a Team Leader position, to be based at our UK Head Office Site - Spennymoor.

The Team Leader role is central to our Plant Operations, supporting our Management Teams and motivating the team on the Plant.

The role will lead a small team, whilst working hands on alongside them.

As a team leader, you will be responsible for supervising a diverse and talented operations team. Your primary goal is to properly organise staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day.

Your position will also support the Plant supervisor in directing, performance managing, training, and assisting production employees on your shift.


WORKING HOURS :
45 hour working week Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm


Your role will involve:


  • Accountable for ensuring the shift staff follow all work instructions, policies, and procedures including compliance and safety to ensure the best possible quality products and service provision
  • Completes Shift handover duties and completes shift logs and completion of all other routine paperwork
  • Supports the Plant Supervisor with Daily metric huddle meeting an ensures production targets are communicated and maintained
  • Monitor Sharpsmart floor stock in line with production requirements and contingency levels
  • Performs routine quality audit checks and spot checks on containers and transporters
  • Performs Monthly customer Auditsmart surveys
  • Supports the Plant Supervisor to conduct regular quality assurance training to staff in line with metrics
  • Creates and offers solutions to troubleshoot and solve operational inefficiencies
  • Maintain record of machine performance, identify trends to maximise efficiency and report performance to Plant Supervisor and the onsite Maintenance Technician
  • Engages in effective communication across teams, departments, and organisation by using Sharpsmart communication systems and platforms
  • Motivates and maintains a productive, professional, and customerservice oriented team
  • Ensures compliance with necessary safety procedures (weekly training of workplace, health and safety)
  • Promote and lead the Pride in the Workplace programme
  • Keeping a positive and safe working environment such as maintenance of machinery, cleanliness of workstations and plant floor, and operating areas free of clutter, debris, or other hazard.
  • 3+ years plant/warehouse leadership experience (or relatable experience)
  • Mechanical background
  • Proven experience in improving processes and procedures
  • Occasionally working in confined spaces; extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing
