We're looking for a Surgical Care Practitioners and Surgical First Assistants to join our Theatre team at the Christie Private Care, currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC and proud recipient of The Macmillan Quality Environment Mark for our commitment to patient wellbeing and privacy.


Providing a comprehensive range of services from initial diagnostics through to complex surgery for rare cancers our modern £7.8m theatres offer a truly unique environment where you'll gain exposure to a variety of patient cases, work with world class consultants and state-of-the-art technology, such as our new da Vinci Xi robot.


As a Surgical Care Practitioner you'll play a key role in supporting consultant surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures and co-ordinate the planning and management of the care of the patients from the point of referral to discharge and follow up.

It's a great opportunity to support with pioneering robotic surgery within the department and be part of a growing new venture for Urology, Gynae and colorectal surgery.

The Surgical First Assistant will be responsible for providing high quality clinical assistance to the Surgeon during surgical procedures.

The Surgical First Assistant will ensure that professional and national standards are met in accordance to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Professions Council (HPC) and HCA's Code of Conduct.

They will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures and prepare equipment and instruments according to the individual needs of the patient and Surgeon, as well as involvement with the updating of Surgeon preference cards.
