Cronite Castings in Crewkerne has been a sucessful foundry business for over 100 years. We are currently looking for CNC machine operators to support our busy Machine Shop on days.


We are looking for a
CNC
Machine Operator to set up and operates metal-cutting machinery to build tools and parts of various machinery.

Their duties include studying blueprints and creating the design, cutting metal and manipulating it to build the project, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.


The CNC Operator is responsible for
safely loading and unloading raw materials and setting up any equipment or accessories needed during production.

They also calibrate all necessary items according to manufacturer guidelines to run smoothly.


A great Machine Operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail, comply with and follow safety standards.

You will be a self-motivated team player. You will have the skills to successfully work with their assigned machinery to keep it running efficiently.

Effective Machine Operators can think on their feet, make quick decisions and have strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues go unnoticed.


Responsibilites:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machinerelated mistakes or flaws
  • Maintain activity logs

Requirements and Skills:

  • Willing to learn the working knowledge of diverse highspeed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read drawings and manuals
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and strength

  • Not essential
Previous CNC machinery experience is essential and ongoing training will be given. Salary will be dependent on experience.


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£11.00-£15.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

Supplemental pay types:
