Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
The CNS will help to promote and co-ordinate a seamless pathway of care for this group of patients. Central to the role is a collaborative approach with the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive patient focused service.

Person specification:
Knowledge & Qualifications:
Essential criteria:
- Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
- Relevant postregistration programme (Radiology or Oncology)
- Teaching/Assessment programme
- Honours Degree in Nursing, research or ethics
Desirable criteria:
- Completed/completing Masters Degree
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Minimum 3 years' relevant (Radiology &/or Oncology) post registration experience with recent leadership experience
- Experience of working autonomously
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of setting up a clinical service
Communication:
Essential criteria:
- Communicates effectively verbally, in writing and in electronic formats
Personal And People Development:
Essential criteria:
- Demonstrates evidence of professional development in line with KSF, maintains updated Portfolio
- Experience as a preceptor/facilitator/mentor
- Reflective in Practice
- Demonstrates evidence of ability to educate others
- Demonstrates up to date knowledge and expertise in the specialty
- Evidence of developing & leading nurse led clinics / services
- Evidence of ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
Desirable criteria:
- Published articles / poster presentations
Quality:
Essential criteria:
- Demonstrates understanding of principles of Clinical Governance, e.g. risk management, audit
- Commitment to quality initiatives, e.g. Nursing & Midwifery strategy & Trust top 10 objectives
- Experience of developing standards, guidelines and policies
- Experience in audit and evaluation of practice / services
