A specialist insurance firm based in city of London are looking for a Compliance Officer to join the business. This will be a hybrid or even work from home full time.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To oversee and manage the regulatory requirements of the company stemming from the FCA principles and guidelines relating to general insurance activities.
- Develop strategies to ensure the company's activities comply with FCA.
- Keep up to date of any changes to the regulations and roll down to staff when required.
- Become familiar with our purpose and values, making them core to daytoday behaviours and with all interactions with colleagues, our partners, and customers.
- Ensure all thirdparty contacts are reviewed and renewed, including office, insurance, and software protection.
- Be responsible for following up on any regulatory changes such as GDPR to ensure third parties are compliant.
- To adhere to GDPR
- General Data Protection Regulations and take on responsibility for becoming the contact person with the ICO for the reporting of potential breaches.
- Respond to requests for information from regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate with operations departments regarding production design and development to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ensure awareness of all regulatory responsibilities regarding FCA and TCF principles and guidelines and adhere to them.
- Be aware of potential risks within the business that may affect your immediate area of responsibility and maintain risk, conflict of interest and other compliance related logs and monitoring tools.
- Undertake work of a related nature or performing duties other than or in addition to those outlined above upon request.
EXPERIENCE:
- Regulatory experience in the Insurance industry
- Ability to understand impact on company of FCA and GDPR regulation and regulatory changes.
- Up to date working knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements and their effects.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable government and FCA regulations.
- Ability to inform and educate managers and department heads on regulations and polices that require compliance involvement.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent strategic planning skills.
- Proficient with applicable and relevant databases and software e.g., BACS Payment Services
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Generalist Compliance duties including but not limited too: monitoring, reviews, advising the business/entities on regulatory requirements, SMCR, financial crime, policy updates, consumer duty,
- Working collaboratively with an international team.
- Supporting junior members of the team.
CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
- An understanding of all classes of busines, Lloyds market or other specialist insurance industry knowledge.
- Experience in a Compliance role for 5+ years.
- Be able to work autonomously.
- Problem solving skills.
