The Role


The University of Cambridge's Estates Division is looking to recruit a BIM Modeller to join and support the Estate Data Team.

This Team is responsible for the production, co-ordination and upkeep of the University's core spatial data, which includes management of CAD, BIM and GIS data for locations, sites, buildings, floors and spaces.


The Estates Division has invested a significant amount of time and money in establishing the foundations for using BIM across the capital programme; standards and processes are in place and being used successfully on major projects e.g., £300M Ray Dolby Centre will be a rich source of building and asset information.

The capital programme is expected to be around £800M over the next 5 years.


The challenge is to manage and maintain this ever increasing digital data and to provide a well structured digital representation of the estate which can be used to support operational activities.


Reporting to the Estate Data Manager, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Estate Data Team and others to create and manage virtual models of buildings and other structures.


You will be responsible for maintaining the library of 3D Models and coordinating with departments and internal teams to ensure that all components of the models are up to date.


You will work with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the models they create meet the specific needs of the University.


About You


You will be highly organised and detail oriented with demonstrable experience of BIM Modelling and a have strong portfolio of work.


In addition to having proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, you will have expert knowledge of COBie and other information exchange formats, as well as a working knowledge of other BIM software such as Solibri etc.


For this role you will need good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills which will help you with your ability to work within a team, plan and manage work activities, communicate and prioritise workloads.


Qualifications


Educated to at least HNC/HND Level in an Architectural discipline or relevant building industry qualification, ideally with advanced certifications in Autodesk Revit.
