EAST SUSSEX SOCIAL INCLUSION OFFICER - JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title - EAST SUSSEX SOCIAL INCLUSION OFFICER
Responsible to:
SASBAH Chief Executive Officer
Location - Working from local office/home to be agreed pre-appointment
General Points
This appointment is for 8 hours per week, £12.25 per hour. The Officer will work closely with all Sasbah staff, particularly the CEO. The post will involve some travelling throughout East
Sussex, West Sussex and/or Brighton and Hove, and may require occasional evening and possibly weekend work. There will be the opportunity to do overtime throughout the year.
You will be required to
- To undertake induction training, including full training in the conditions of spina bifida and hydrocephalus, familiarisation with Sasbah mission and working practices
- To work effectively as a member of the Sasbah staff team.
- Use the Lamplight database to record all activities and events.
- To be compliant with all of Sasbah's policies and procedures.
Specific Duties The Officer will be required to work to the outline which is set out below:1. To attend Bourne Free sessions once a fortnight and support the service users and the worker in charge.2. To prepare a plan for social inclusion activities in the community across East Sussex(averaging at one activity per week).
- To manage, develop and deliver a support group in Bexhill that meets once a month.
- Use the Lamplight database to record all activities and events.
- To recruit and retain volunteers to support all activities.
- To carry out any other duties as required by the organisation.

Committed and enthusiastic supporter of equality for all x
To have a track record of real sensitivity x
Disciplined approach to planning and delivering x activities and events
Experience of working the voluntary sector x
Experience in coordinating activities x
An understanding of disability and the impact it has on x people's lives
Have previous work experience in the disability sector x
Be able to travel throughout Sussex and have use of x their own transport
Ability to use database to record all activities and x outcomes
Ability to produce reports as and when required x
Ability to raise awareness of Sasbah in the wider x community
Knowledge of fundraising x
