We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our small friendly team of medical secretaries in providing efficient and confidential administrative support to our consultant Psychiatrists based Dorset wide.

You should have a welcoming approach and a polite telephone manner as you will be the first point of contact for service users, carers and visitors to the service.

The post is based in Ensbury Park, Bournemouth and travel to other sites will be required.


To support the medical secretary team by undertaking administrative and clerical duties associated with the management of referrals to the consultants, scheduling of appointments, typing of reports/clinic letters.


To work flexibly to provide administrative support to the medical secretary team in organising and delivering safe and efficient office systems to support sound patient care, consistent with good clinical governance guidelines.


To liaise with members of the public in their dealings with the service, some of whom may prove at times to be distressed, challenging or aggressive in manner.


To ensure all contacts to the service are dealt with in a friendly and professional manner and the experience is positive.
