Locum Consultant in Pain and Anaesthesia


Main duties of the job:


Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 420,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey.

In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care to a wider area covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.


Working for our organisation:


The Epsom & St Helier Anaesthetic department is aligned with the St George's Hospital teaching programme for medical students and the SW Thames School of Anaesthesia training programme.

We have ACSA accreditation. There is a well-established simulation teaching programme which may give opportunities for suitably qualified applicants.

We score highly each year in the national hip fracture database report and are one of the busiest 5 units in London.

Essential criteria:


  • Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC

Qalifications:


Essential criteria:


  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT/CESR or equivalent
  • Completion of 12 months of advanced pain training or equivalent
  • Higher training in paediatric anaesthesia
  • Higher training in obstetric anaesthesia

Desirable criteria:


  • Advanced training in Obstetric anaesthesia or equivalent experience


  • FFPMRCA

  • Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine Royal College of Anaesthetists
  • Further experience in other anaesthetic subspecialties
