Description

The role of the Communications Specialist is to lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of communications and engagement strategies in support of the organisation's objectives.

You will be supporting our Women's and Children's Division helping to shape, influence and build our standing among our workforce, stakeholder partners and across the communities that we serve.

Our Women's and Children's Division incorporates maternity, fertility, paediatrics, neonatal care, gynecology and gynae oncology.

Our maternity service is one of the biggest in the South West and supports thousands of families every year bring new life into the world.


You will have experience in establishing and delivering impactful communications programmes (internal and external) across complex organisations and will take responsibility for the day to day management of channels/communications programmes including content production.

You will work with staff, patients and the local community in the development and delivery of our services.

As a specialist in the field, you will work closely with our service leads, clinicians and medics to advise and support them to engage with our community and work with us to improve how we provide our services.

The role also requires skills in project management, event management and stakeholder engagement with an understanding of theory and proven record in delivering innovative internal and external programmes using engagement tools and approaches.

Combining your skills as a communications and engagement professional, you will play a leading role in establishing and delivering impactful communications programmes (internal and external) across complex organisations.

You will take responsibility for the day to day management of communications channels and content creation while leading on, and co-ordinating, multi-professional and multi-agency groups using innovative internal and external engagement tools and approaches in support of our organisation's objectives.

This will involve strong interpersonal skills as well as an ability to be organised and work under pressure.
