ACS International Schools is seeking a Data Security and Online Safety Coordinator.

This role helps to ensure that ACS International Schools complies with all applicable data protection laws and regulations in the UK and Qatar.


Part of the role includes responsibilities as ACS's Data Protection Officer, including work with all levels of staff to understand and implement effective practices in data protection, data security, and online safety.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Act as ACS's Data Protection Officer as part of the compliance team with access to management and Trustees
  • Chair the Multi-Campus Online Safety Group
  • Serve as organisation's cyber security champion.
  • Support the Group DSL in fulfilling educational online safety good practice.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in a related teaching, instructional technology, or IT field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a schoolbased technology leader, ideally in an international context
  • Familiarity with online safety in school contexts
  • Indepth knowledge of technical safeguarding systems
  • DPO training or qualification, and competency in education law (preferred)
  • Independence of thought and a complianceoriented mindset
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, across a range of purposes & media
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork/ collegiality.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST


To maintain independence, the DPO's other roles and responsibilities cannot lead them to determine the purposes and the means of the processing of personal data.

The DPO cannot be a controller or decision maker of processing activities for any ACS business or educational function.
