Job summary:


The Team:


Although a digital platform is now in place, some competitions remain manual and require a high level of attention to detail, ensuring public sector funding is dealt with appropriately.

The team is responsible for ensuring that Innovate UK's funding mechanisms are delivered effectively; to the satisfaction of its customers at a minimum of administrative overhead.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Completion of the General Eligibility checks to support the Competition Administrators, ensuring all competition related documents are correctly saved to the relevant competition folders in sharepoint
  • Management of the Competitions Saleforce queue, First Tier advice in engaging with Innovate UK's assessors (e.g. how do I....) and key business information (e.g. competition enddate) Liaising with internal teams & resolver groups and escalation where required.
  • Contribute to continual improvement processes within the team and the organisation to facilitate excellence in customer service towards our internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all competition kick off meetings are booked in accordance with weekly update from Coordinators, liaising with the coordinators, Portfolio Managers and competition administrators where necessary
  • This is not an exhaustive list and you might be encouraged to undertake any other duties across the wider directorate, commensurate with the Band and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the key experience and/or training._

Qualifications:


  • Secondary level academic qualifications or equivalent
  • Further education or vocational training qualification desirable.

Experience:

Essential

  • Proven ability to work within a time pressured environment
  • General administration experience working with bespoke and proprietary systems and databases
  • Customer and external facing experience
Desirable

  • Proven ability to work within the constraints of time, cost and quality
  • Interest/background/experience in innovation or research, business competitiveness and technology policy or delivery
  • Secretarial team support
  • Administration of contracts and associated process to support engagement of service providers.

Skills:


  • Proven team working skills
  • Selforganisation skills and a demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise a workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to take minutes and produce competition reports working with Portfolio Managers
  • Ability to manage often conflicting demands of multiple stakeholders whilst protecting the integrity and ownership of the documented processes
  • Ability to thrive in an agile / changing environment in response to the demands of the business
  • The ability to respond calmly under pressure and to make impartial and wellconsidered judgments in complex situations as and when required
