Location:
Coxheath, near Maidstone, Kent


Salary:
£21, ,000 per year + holiday + pension, fixed-term contract for 8 months

Full time (37.5 hours per week), Mon-Fri, 8am start, March until October.


You will identify and count SWD on the traps collected from the field weekly, under a microscope, in our lab near Coxheath.

You will carry out other laboratory and administrative tasks as required.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Scoring traps under a microscope to assess SWD population levels
  • Input data on to specific spreadsheets
  • Store and organise traps correctly
  • Keeping the laboratory clean and tidy

Qualifications and experience

  • Since full training is provided, no experience is required, but a background in entomology and/or previous work on field trials would be advantageous
  • You must be able to follow processes accurately while observing all safety and hygiene rules
  • This job involves working with live insects
