The Department of English Language and Linguistics is seeking to appoint a
Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics (Education and Scholarship) for fixed-term teaching coverage due to staff absence in Autumn 2023.


General teaching expectations include:

  • Teaching and module convening on the elective Language and Power
  • Teaching and module convening on core module Great Ideas about Language.
  • Contributing to other teaching in English Language and Linguistics as relevant.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Holding student consultation hours twice a week.
  • Contributing to marking and academic integrity processes in the department.
You will join a thriving, collegial department.

Teaching experience, good communication skills, and an ability to work productively as part of a friendly, team-oriented department are essential qualities for this position.

We are seeking someone who holds a doctorate, or who is near to completing a doctorate, in a relevant field.
