Locum Childcare Solicitor - Remote Working - up to £55 per hour umbrella - 3-6 Months - Home Counties


Venn Group's specialist legal team are currently working with an established
Local Authority in the
Home Counties Regionwho are recruiting for a
Locum Childcare Solicitor to join their department.


This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister to become part of a forward thinking, proactive Local Authority.


Duties may include:

  • Managing a busy and varied caseload of Childcare cases to include all preproceedings
  • Advising at LPM and PLO meetings
  • Performing own advocacy including contested and final hearings
  • Advising client departments on complex issues concerning Childcare law
  • Providing Childcare Public Law advice and undertake all aspects of Care Proceedings work
  • Attending and advise at meetings across the County attended by professionals, particularly Legal Planning Meetings and PLO meetings and other similar meetings as directed by the Principal Lawyer and/or Assistant Chief Legal Officer
  • Conducting advocacy before the Family Courts and instruct counsel and the Council's inhouse advocates where appropriate as well as preparation of cases
  • Ensuring that decisions made by the client department are lawful and accord with County Council policy
  • Maintaining an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy and regulations related to childcare matter
  • Investigating and advising on implications of changing legislation, case law and codes of practice and policy and provide briefing notes and training for colleagues and client officers.
An attractive rate is on offer of up to
