Job Family Definition
Roles within the Logistics job family are primarily concerned with facilitating the efficient operation of the visitor destination. Professional management of the material, supplies, product and equipment is essential for complete visitor satisfaction.

Role Purpose
Responsible for product replenishment in a range of categories with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable and ethical procurement. The buyer is directly responsible for stock availability and crucially the important relationship with our suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsible for inputting and monitoring ecommerce SKUs, ensuring that all product listings are current and displayed correctly on web shop platform.

Key Accountabilities


  • Range Planning and Product Development - working with UK based and international suppliers, the role demands that unique and inspiring product is developed to maximise sales opportunity ensuring products reflect Eden's sustainable criteria. Planning ranges in advance with awareness of developing trends to ensure Eden has new and relevant products in accordance with Eden's values and visual style. Proactive management of stock levels, forecasting quantities and supply lead-times.
  • Sustainable Procurement - An understanding of the sustainable procurement policy and of ethical and responsible buying. Including an understanding of modern slavery and social factors as well as environmental issues associated with particular products, product production or supply chains.
  • Cost and Margins - Responsible for managing and monitoring price changes and contract terms with suppliers and reporting to the senior buyer.
  • Supplier Relationship Management - maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Suppliers are critical to our delivery and the ability to guide, communicate and to keep them satisfied is central to this role.
  • Key communication with internal stakeholders, working together to understand the requirements and demands of multiple departments. Consider how we can raise awareness via on site messaging and product ranges.
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels based on the prescribed stock levels across the commercial operations warehouses.
  • Retail Ecommerce - Responsible for inputting and monitoring ecommerce SKUs, ensuring that all product listings are current and displayed correctly. Managing product categories within the web shop to enhance the ecommerce customer journey. Working with the Digital and Marketing teams on campaigns, ensuring stock availability and selection to increase revenue generated by ecommerce.
Demands of the Role
Education & qualifications

GCSE Mathematics and English (A-C) or equivalent with sufficient numeracy and literacy to enable professional communication externally, plus the ability to calculate margins and use Excel spread sheets.

Adobe Photoshop skills desirable.
Knowledge & skills
2 years' experience in a high volume Retail environment with Product and Material knowledge. A comprehensive understanding of sustainable procurement.

Occasionally attend buying trips, organise supplier visits and meeting suppliers.

Having the ability to view products and suppliers and decide which the right fit is and build a coherent range is paramount.

Works to short term objectives where swift decision making is needed. Planning around ecommerce newsletters and stock levels for peak and critical dates within webshop calendar.
Resourcefulness

Suppliers need constant management and the ability to persuade them to deliver what "Eden" needs - requires a high level of resourcefulness.

Being pro-active to avoid availability issues and planning ahead are crucial as is the initiative to be aware of upcoming trends.

Reactive problem solving will be a key feature of the role with adaptive thinking needed to work around challenges presented within the team and from suppliers within a mínimal time frame.

People & asset management
A significant financial value of retail stock and cash tied up requires constant management, the sales budgets and sales performance
