The role


As a Head of Submarine Production, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll plan and prepare our submarine production workforce to be fit for the future.

Successfully delivering our operations for today and tomorrow.


Day to day, you'll lead an embedded production team (up to 8 direct reports) delivering all submarine production activities on the Devonport site.


  • Day to day leadership of safety, quality and output
  • Enable the provision of accurate demand into the wider production function to ensure all submarine programmes are correctly resourced to successfully deliver.
  • Managing the development and careers of senior production staff as well as being a key member of the Site Production SLT.

Essential experience of the Head of Submarine Production

  • Experienced senior leader with calm and measured approach
  • A selfstarter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with key stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to forge excellent working relationships with key business stakeholders through excellent communication skills, prompt delivery and the ability to influence across the production function and beyond.
  • Passionate about growing Babcock and Support Programme delivery.
This role is based Onsite at Devonport, Plymouth.


Qualifications for the Head of Submarine Production

  • Degree qualified or have equivalent experience and recent CPD.
