The role of a Vehicle Parts Advisor is to provide each and every one of our customers with consistently high levels of service within the Retailer Network.

Working in the busy Parts Department this Apprenticeship Programme is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career with Volvo, one of the world's leading premium car manufacturers.


The Role of a Parts Advisor:
Parts Advisors are also known as vehicle parts operatives. They are responsible for ordering, selling and managing stock control on a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories.

Whilst the role may vary by employed based on the specific needs to the location, the duties of a Parts Advisor Apprentice will typically include:

  • Building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Taking orders from customers in person and over the phone
  • Maintaining stock room
  • Identifying parts
  • Processing payments for parts sold
  • Working with technicians to ensure they have the correct parts to complete their work

Working Week
A typical working week could be 40 hours Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm. However, each of our Retailer will have different requirements.

All learners will be required to work the minimum apprenticeship duration of 30 hours per week.


At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to 'off-the-job' training, which you will learn more about during the recruitment process.


Your Development and Future Prospects


The Programme typically lasts between 12 to 15 months depending on the career path chosen and you'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification.


We will support you to gain your Functional Skills, Core Skills in Scotland, if you require them in Maths and English.


All of our Apprentices are employed through the Retailer Network and attend training via online webinars, observations in the workplace, App based learning and face to face attended training blocks at our state-of-the-art Volvo Training & Development Centre in Daventry.


As an apprentice you will receive regular visits from one of our experienced Coaches who will mentor and guide you through your qualification, supporting safeguarding, welfare, and portfolio progression.


Your development is supported through your Volvo Apprenticeship journey, with your learning focused towards achieving a qualification recognised across the motor industry.

This will provide the foundation to develop your career, as there are lots of opportunities within our expanding Retailer Network to progress and move into new roles once you're qualified.


  • Qualification:_ Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner
  • Duration:_ 1215 months
  • Salary_**:_ Our employers determine the level of pay our learners receive. All employers are required to pay, at least, The National Apprenticeship Wage of £5.28 per hour (April 2023).

Entry requirements

Age: 16+


Qualifications:
GCSE (or equivalent) Level 4 plus in Maths and English

  • Essential Skills (Wales)
