Full training on the 11 plus syllabus will be provided.
Position:
11+ tutor (6 to 8 positions available)
Hours:
3.5 to 8 hours per weekend
Pay:
£16.00 up to £22.50 per hour (based on experience)
Bonus:
Bonus may be paid based on results

Required Skills & Experience:
- Be
highly attentive and
pay attention to details
- Have teaching experience, preferably in a school / TA's are more than welcome to apply
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to interpret and manage the behaviour of children and judge when something may be wrong or when they require extra help.
Job description / Responsibilities:
- Prepare small groups of Year 4 and 5 students for the 11+ exam.
- Deliver the preprepared course provided by the centre.
- Provide written/verbal feedback to parents after each session.
- Have the ability to advise parents and students on the best way to manage the challenges they face on their 11+ journey.
- Assessing, managing, recording and then reporting on the behaviour and performance of students during weekly meetings.
- Keep records on performance, behaviour, attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events.
- Attending and taking part in staff meetings to support the smooth running and administration of the centre.
- To encourage, motivate and nurture students to have confidence in their own abilities.
- Be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all students from the moment they enter the premises right up until they are handed back into the care of their parents at home time.
- Ensuring the highest standards of quality when teaching.
- Show initiative to introduce new ideas which will boost overall student performance.
- Understand that our sole purpose at Broad Horizon Tuition is to do everything we can to ensure our students have the best chance possible at passing their 11 plus.
- Reorganising the classroom/tables/chairs at the end of each lesson. Make the room presentable for the next class.
does not require tutors to take work home to mark on a regular basis - the only work to mark outside of class times are the few progress tests throughout the year which only Year 4's have.)
Interview Stages:
1) Short phone interview to make introductions
2) Come in and teach a full observed 11+ lesson.
(Lesson content will be provided in advance and we will go through the lesson content with you beforehand with tips on how to deliver it - this support will be ongoing once hired.)
3) Formal interview if the observed lesson goes well.
