Your Team responsibilities

  • Our Subscription revenue represents the largest revenue stream at MSCI, at $1.5B+ for fiscal year 2021. This role will be responsible for performing various aspects of the financial and management accounting, analytics and reporting related to Subscription Revenues arising from specialty, standard and nonstandard contracts with clients. This position will provide operational accounting, reporting, and forecasting support to the Business and Sales teams, as well as provide accounting guidance for revenue recognition and reporting matters pertaining to customer contract arrangements. This role will be responsible for supporting a fastgrowing global organization through partnering with key business stakeholders to deliver critical business initiatives and closely collaborate with business partners on financial analysis and forecasting. This position will also lead or support special projects as they arise, including process improvement initiatives, system implementations and developing processes to account for new revenue contracts. Your key responsibilities -

  • Collaborate closely with key business partners, for example, Product Finance, Legal, Sales, Run Rate, Tax, and Billing to deliver critical business initiatives and identify value opportunities
  • Operate as a key team member of subscription revenue team with responsibility of the accurate and completeness of revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Perform contract review and ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with MSCI's policy and revenue recognition standards
  • Perform revenue operations, which includes execution of monthly revenue close, variance analysis, reporting, and account reconciliations for revenue and related accounts agreements
  • Analyse and report key revenue metrics and results and implement and enhance revenue accounting policies and procedures
  • Assess and implement changes to contractual agreements for accounting impacts and potential reporting needs
  • Streamline and improve subscription revenue accounting processes to improve clarity and efficiency
  • Maintain and update operations of internal controls, policies and procedures related to revenue recognition, monthly close and reporting processes
  • Support audits performed by internal audit, external audit, legal entity, and SOX teams
  • Participate in continual process improvements, automation, and implementation of best practices
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participate in special projects, system implementation and enhancement and ad hoc analysis

Your skills and experience that will help you excel _- _**- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance related field

  • College or University degree in accounting or finance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hungarian and English
  • Public accounting and/or industry accounting experience with multinational public companies which comply with U.S. GAAP or IFRS
  • Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in clear, simple, and logical terms
  • Detail oriented, organized, and analytical thinking
  • Team player and desire to work effectively with diverse cultures in a global organization
  • Proven track record of strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Forwardthinking mindset
