Description

Are you an experienced Database Administrator ?

Do you have strong Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server skills ?

Are you highly analytical with excellent attention to detail ?

If so I have a really interesting role with my client who is a leading Fintech business in the Investment management industry.

You will be based from their office in the city centre of Edinburgh however they offer very flexible hybrid working.

Responsibilities include:

Configure and maintain database servers and processes
Monitor system's health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
Analyse, solve, and correct issues in realtime & provide suggestions for solutions
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Participates in project work as required, delivering tasks to agreed deadlines. Identifies and delivers operational enhancements as required.

Skills should include:

Experience in relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
Good experience of SQL scripting.
Experience using database management tools.
Experience performance tuning SQL scripts.
Proven, demonstrable interest in technology (servers, storage systems, networks, databases etc).
Linux shell scripting experience is desirable.
