We are now seeking to appoint a Cleaning and Waste Management Supervisor to oversee our in-house team of Environmental Cleaning Operatives to deliver a high-class cleaning service across the range of properties we manager across the North-West England.

Overall, we are looking for a committed and responsible supervisor who has excellent people management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our customers.


About the role


This is a homebased position but will require the post holder to attend office and sites as required so a driving licence and access to your own care is required.


The successful post holder will work Monday to Friday but there may be occasional out of hours work required which may include weekends.


Key duties and responsibilities

Line Management

  • Manage cleaning, window cleaning & waste management teams to complete works to agreed schedules and specifications on estates and schemes.
  • Provide operational cover as and when required, performing the duties of an operative.
  • Manage of pest control and hazardous substances and waste management.
  • Performance management of inhouse teams and contractors through safety audits and quality checks.

Resources

  • Manage internal resources effectively and efficiently to deliver agreed performance targets and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Undertake the management and allocation of resources including plant, equipment, vehicles, and materials. Delivering basic training and Toolbox Talks as required.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure safe methods of work are adopted and all colleagues are suitable qualified and trained to deliver the work required. Ensuring records are available for monitoring compliance.
  • Assist with the review and creation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Partnership Working

  • Identify, build, and develop internal and external partnerships to ensure that EST objectives are met. Work closely with the Neighbourhood Teams to reduce fly tipping, encouraging recycling and sustainability initiates.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by listening to customers and responding to enquiries.

Reporting

  • Prepare reports, minutes and other written communication as required.
  • Investigate and report on health and safety incidents and customer complaints.
  • Estimate costs and service charges for Environmental services and prepare work instructions for teams.

Customer Service

  • Attend resident and partner meetings within and on occasion outside regular hours including evenings and weekends.

What we require?

  • Knowledge of best practice in environmental services, cleaning, and window cleaning.
  • Demonstrable evidence of working under pressure and meeting deadlines and hitting KPI's
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence teams and building lasting relationships.
  • Knowledge of Heath and Safety legislation relevant to Waste management and cleaning.
  • IT skills using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as mobile and handheld PDAs etc.

Desirable:


  • Knowledge of contract management.
  • Experience of supervising an operational cleaning team.

Qualifications

Desirable:


  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualification / experience.


  • PA1, PA

  • Relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in Environmental Management.
