Job title:
Skilled Surface Grinder/Form Grinding

Location:
Tamworth

Working hours:
Mon-Thurs 8-5pm and Fri 8-2.30pm

Pay:
Up to £16.25 D.O.E

The role:

Under the direction of the supervisor, the Surface grinder sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of surface grinding equipment to grind gears and gear shafts having very tight tolerances and finish requirements according to specified dimensions and companyquality standards.

Minimum 3 years of trades training or equivalent experience and two to four years of related machining experience.
Have experience working on sub.005mm tolerance.
Work from detailed drawings, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts to identify component/manufacturing specifications.
Enter data into ERP system.
Must have extensive knowledge of Surface Grinding processes.
Able to operate multiple machines and have experience with Jones and Shipman machinery.
Compute such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times.
