About the role


As a Customer Care Joiner, you will play a key role in closing out projects, completing year end defects works as well as supporting in the delivery of any final fix works and snagging.

You'll be part of an established Customer Care team, with administrative support provided centrally and a number of Customer Care Operatives with mixed trades backgrounds on hand to support you in resolving Customer Care issues.

Key roles and responsibilities include

  • Liaising with residents/tenants to reconfirm scheduled appointments.


  • Updating CRM database

  • Clixifix.
  • Ensuring effective use of systems and clear communication with the Customer Care Admin team to ensure appointments are completed, works are accurately recorded and updated and new appointments arranged as necessary.
  • Ensure any materials required for scheduled jobs are collected well in advance of your appointment. Assess your workload and identify appropriate time(s) for collection of materials.
  • Provide a status update upon arrival at every appointment.
  • Take before and after photographs for every job and upload to Clixifix against the ticket/inspection list.
  • Progress photos should be captured where jobs are going to be left incomplete (until next appointment).
  • Ensure customer signoff of all completed defect repair works.
  • If materials are required to complete defect repair works, nominate procurement and provide all technical details within the nomination and attach any supporting photographs.
  • Ensure full details of any required followon works are updated into Clixifix to support the admin team in knowing the status of a job and to assist the next operative that attends the site to complete the identified works.
  • Carry out defect repairs to a high quality standard.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S guidelines while at work and complete required risk assessment documentation to support assigned work.
  • Ensure company workwear and ID badges are worn at all times.
  • Carry out required van checks and ensure vans are kept clean and to a suitable standard and report checks using app/tablet provided by the company.
  • Ensure compliance with calling cards / no access policy.
  • Report back any issues/concerns to line manager regarding assigned work at the earliest opportunity.
  • Submit timesheets on time.
  • Aim to complete all assigned defect repairs within the time allocated to help us achieve the client's targets. Escalate to line manager where you are aware of any issues that will prevent you from achieving the desired target at the earliest opportunity.
  • Work on standby for emergency customer call outs on a rota basis, normally one in every four weeks.

Your Skills and Experience


This role is ideally suited to an experienced Joiner who has relevant experience within the construction and/or property maintenance industry and has worked in a customer facing environment previously.


  • Time served Joiner.
  • SVQ in Joinery or equivalent experience in a relevant role.
  • Experience of Customer Care or Client Facing experience would be beneficial.
  • IT literate, able to operate basic IT systems including tablets, databases, etc.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbally.
  • Time Management Skills able to prioritise workload and clearly communicate to ensure programmes are met.
  • Able to work diligently with mínimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain a neat working environment to ensure tenants/homeowners are not unduly affected by any necessary remedial works.
  • Hold a valid and current UK driving licence.
