An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Education Support Facilitator to join the Northern Care Alliance NHS Trust on a 2 year fixed term basis to promote quality patient care through the continuing education and support of Pre-Registration Learners.

  • Are you an experienced Registered Healthcare Professional who would like to develop your skills in Education? Here is the post for you We are looking for an experienced Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC/HCPC registered) with excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team of educators.
  • The post holder should have an enthusiasm for developing the future workforce and will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multiprofessional learning environments within the Trust. There is a requirement to support the breadth of the learner experience, support the management of the Learner in clinical areas and monitor and enhance the quality of their placements.

Main duties of the job:


The post holder will be required to support the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and will be required to work locally within services where interprofessional learning opportunities can be promoted.


The post holder will be expected to support the breadth of the learner experience and delivery of new learner standards to support learning in practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

  • Plan and assist with the Learner placement rotation in line with the NMC Nursing/Midwifery/AHP curriculum framework
  • Provide pastoral and professional support to the Learners and staff in the learning environment throughout the programme
  • Ensure a visible presence, role modelling Trust behaviours and values within the learning environments and among different staff groups
  • Facilitate and deliver the Learner Forums, and other training sessions in line with the NMC and university curriculums
  • In partnership with the Preregistration Education team (PEF), support the assessment of a range of practice learning environments, determining interventions to sustain and enhance practice education; ensuring all service areas/placement providers have an uptodate action plan in place
  • In partnership with the PEF team, support and facilitate the development of clinical practice supervisors/assessors, providing supervision and support structures in order to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency
  • Contribute to the collection of data including placement declarations
  • Supporting the structuring and coordination of interprofessional learning activity across a service area(s) for Learners
  • Develop and maintain links with HEIs to support practice supervisors/ assessors, e.g. contributing to curriculum development, validation and interviews
  • Plan inductions and interprofessional learning opportunities for learners and other programmes supported by the team
  • Support with the structuring, design and delivery of interprofessional learning opportunities in practice for learners/ practice supervisors/ assessors, within own organisation and other healthcare providers as and when required
  • Monitor the progress of Learners and undertake tripartite reviews as dictated within the curriculum and escalate any concerns
  • Support issue in practice with initial investigation, evidence gathering and statements
  • Escalate issues in practice to relevant PEF where appropriate and understand your scope of practice within this
