We are excited to be offering this opportunity in our new service in Torbay.

ABL Health delivers the
Healthy Behaviours Service titled
Your Health Torbay, commissioned by Torbay Council. This transformative service will play a central role in improving the health and well-being of residents of Torbay.

The service will provide integrated behaviour support to help people move more, drink less alcohol, stop smoking and lose weight.

The service will also offer advice and guidance and proactively signpost to relevant organisations. All of this is embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive well-being.


Skills and Competencies Required

  • Be an
    _experienced Smoking Cessation Practitioner _within the community
    (Training would be given):
  • Experience of
    _evolving and developing services_:
-
_Positive and proactive_ outlook with the ability to motivate, engage and support others to achieve the highest standards and outcomes.

_Adept in communication_; A strong communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience including clients, staff, and volunteers at all levels

_Build strong relationships_, foster trust and co-operation among colleagues, stakeholders throughout community settings

_Quality driven_; you naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.

Some of the essential criteria for the role:

  • Higher level education or Relevant qualification (health/social care/public health/)/ professional qualification / or significant experience working within smoking cessation
  • Experience of working in community settings
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels with individuals and groups which include the general public
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks and develop effective work streams
  • Understanding concepts of behaviour change and how to implement these
  • The ability to travel independently across the county.
  • Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need
