As
Buying Assistant you will assist the team in the performance of their duties, including having regular contact with suppliers, updating critical paths, sample management and liaising with other internal departments where necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain department critical path, involving chasing relevant parties for outstanding items to ensure all milestones are adhered to.
  • Keep range plan up to date with new products, cost & retail changes and bench marking information
  • Produce reports for the Buyer, run sales reports on a Monday.
  • Create costing and margin spreadsheets as directed by the Buyer
  • Management of samples
- process red & gold seal samples using the online QA system, ensure all products are imaged and chase up test reports

  • Ensure website is kept up to date with core range and seasonal lines
  • Liaise closely with Design dept to ensure all packaging requests are completed promptly and artwork sent to suppliers on time
  • Creation and maintenance of products on the central system
  • Collating information on new product launches and promotions for communication to stores
  • Maintain filing system for department and Buyer.
  • Ensure all admin is accurate, up to date and right first time
  • Liaise with suppliers during their visits to Head Office i.e. greet and welcome.
  • Attend supplier meetings in Head Office with Buyer as and when required.
  • Note taking in meetings where required
  • Collating and producing competitive shop reports.
  • Closely follow and be able to present competitor benchmarking.
  • Support the Buyer in any other tasks required to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Initial contact for invoice matching department queries with regard to supplier invoices i.e. Queries & Amendments.
Key Skills Required

  • Good computer skills
  • MS office package, ability to learn in house programs, database and strong excel skills
  • Good numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent communication & organisational skills
  • Ability to be an efficient and reliable team member who can be responsible for their own work load.
