LHH have partnered with a fantastic University, that have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer to join their growing team and advise on a wide range of legal matters.

This is a great chance to work independently and together with the General Counsel, andas part of the wider team.

In this role you will be known as the specialist for this area, and be the companies internal principal contact, which will be key for career development.


This role will be primarily responsible for the provision of commercial legal advice to the University in a wide range of areas, which may include Commercial Contracts, Terms and Conditions, Intellectual Property matters, Property law, Civil Litigation,and to develop expertise in one or more areas of specialism.


Some of the Key Duties are:

  • Provide professional high quality legal advice and guidance to internal and external customers that will have institution wide impacts, advising on the impact of legal and regulatory regime for changes affecting the University.
  • To draft and negotiate legal agreements, letters, other documentation, to review and negotiate documentation prepared by others, including commercial and other contracts.
  • To provide advice relating to intellectual property issues (particularly copyright, trademarks and internet domain rights) arising from activities of the University.
  • To provide advice in relation to the legal aspects of University's student appeals and complaints procedures.

Ideal skills & experience are:

  • Substantial post qualification experience in Commercial, Civil Litigation and Regulatory Law.
  • Able to demonstrate expert professional knowledge within specialist discipline, to be recognised as an authority in the field.
  • Highly developed legal skills including drafting, researching, negotiation, advocacy and interviewing
  • Very good organisational and time management skill
