Description

The Head of Vendor Management is responsible for the end to end operational management of Ericsson's 3rd Party Managed Services (MS) ASP's (Approved Service Providers), managing a spend of circa £20M.

The role is also responsible for the operational management of Ericsson OHS resources in the delivery of FSO scope of delivery.

Reporting to the Head of the FSO, the primary interface will be the MSCOO of the relevant managed services contract, and the individual will be responsible for managing the performance, governance and spend of the Managed Services Approved Service Provider (ASP) base on the MSCOO's behalf.


Key Tasks & responsibilities


The Head of Vendor Management and OHS manages a team of Technical Contract Leads, Vendor Controllers and Managed Service OHS SME's who are committed to increasing the quality, accountability, performance and compliance of Ericsson's ASP's, whilst driving a "best in class" culture relating to Occupational Health & Safety.

The role will also provide strategic pre sales support to the MSIP and KAM teams, and be accountable for post contract budget adherence and operational escalations


Tasks and responsibilities

Daily activities required by this manager include:

  • To manage and govern the ASP's in the Managed Services domain, ensuring operational performance is delivered in accordance with agreed SLA's and within budget agreed with the relevant MSIP.
  • To manage, on behalf of the Head of the FSO, the budget (£2M) and governance for ASP's providing services to support the running of the FSO.
  • To manage transition and transformation of the ASP, in the event of a change in ASP or a change in an existing ASP's delivery model.
  • To understand the Managed Service ASP activities required to support customer networks in the areas of Preventative Planned Maintenance, Reactive Fault Management, Test Equipment, Access Platforms and Temporary Generators.
  • To manage an OHS team of SMEs and Auditors ensuring; Resources to deliver activities agreed with the MELA EHS Lead are in place
Management of 3rd Party Provider relating to OHS Services

Reporting is provided to local and regional stakeholders

Line Management responsibilities

  • To support Sourcing on supply and demand requirements, scope of work development and presales activities and ASP commercial negotiations.
  • To act as a Single Point of Contact for the MELA Head of Vendor Management Strategy. Providing reports on ASP performance
Distributing regional information to the correct internal functions or ASPs

Holistic end to end strategy on UK ASP Spend in both MS (£20M) and NRO (£35M)

Experience

  • Experience of Contractual negotiations and Procurement within a telecommunications business.
  • Experience of Field Services and/or Network Roll-Out Services
  • Experience in strategic management and handling of Subcontractors Budget management experience, including forecasting and control Familiar with OHS best practice and ways of working
  • Ability to work in a demanding service environment
  • Solid and proven negotiation and conflict management skills
