An exciting opportunity has arisen for conscientious, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Urology Cancer Pathway Navigator to join the Urology department at St Albans City Hospital.


The post holder will support the Urology clinical and administrative team with the smooth running of the prostate cancer service.

This will include utilising prostate biopsy clinics, Booking of MRI's and monitoring utilisation of all other outpatient activity.

It will also include contacting with patients to confirm appointments and management of admin duties such as letters, prepping for the image review meeting etc.

This is a fixed term contract for 24 months

This post is 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

Interviews will be held on 1stAugust 2023.


The post holder will be responsible for the tracking of all patients on the prostate cancer pathway so will be required to have great IT skills.


The post holder will work closely with the Urology consultants, Urology management team, Urology Surgical care practitioner, Urology secretarial team, nurses, their immediate colleagues, and other administrative and clinical members of the trust.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.

A:

To act as main point of administrative support and contact for the urology cancer triage clinical teams, liaising with them on a day-to-day basis and prioritising own work load.


B:
To track and navigate patients through the urology cancer pathways. Complete relevant database input throughout this process.

C:

Act as point of contact for patients who have been referred via their GP to the urology cancer services.


D:

To coordinate and organise appointments and assessments as required with patients, and to exchange that information clearly and concisely dealing with anxiety, cultural and language difficulties.


E:
To ensure any follow up actions from MDT Meetings are completed and book them in the system.
