Role Purpose
Responsible for all manufacturing-related activities and employees within the factory environment.
Including planning, coordinating and taking management ownership of all the steps in the production process, ensuring that products are delivered on time andon budget.
Who you'll report to:
Operations Director
What you'll be doing:
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Manage and run production activities ensuring weekly, monthly and annual output targets are met
- Head up production, engineering and component stores teams; setting the standards and leading by example
- Engage and empower team to deliver improvements to processes by adopting and embedding Lean manufacturing philosophies such as 5S, Kanban, OEE, Value Stream Mapping etc
- Proactively identify automation solutions where needed to boost productivity and maximise output
- Drive Health and Safety agenda throughout the organisation ensuring best practice is adopted throughout
- Promote teamwork and encourage employee skills and career development
- Ensure exacting Quality standards are maintained and group company initiatives are delivered
- Champion Engineering activities to ensure that standards are maintained and improved
- Actively take project management responsibility to ensure proposals are financially viable, delivered on time and within budget
- Work closely as a member of the wider management team, pioneering a positive team based environment

Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the continued growth and success of Hochiki.
In addition to this, you will possess the following:
Qualifications
Desirable:
Degree in Engineering, preferably with an Electronics focus
Experience
Essential: 10 years in a fast paced Manufacturing environment, ideally at Production manager level (or similar leadership level);
Experience growing and developing employees
Knowledge
Essential:
Practical expertise in Electronics, including SMT production and assembly of electronic goods;
Knowledge of automation and Lean manufacturing, gained through hands-on delivery of projects;
Six sigma trained
