With our client in Trafford we are looking to appoint an Finance Assistant.

Our client is a popular and well-established car dealership, they have over 40 years of experience with the with their specified car brand, and are proud to bring the highest-quality new and Approved Used vehicles to their valued customers.

This position is suited to someone who is looking to advance their career in Accounting and also has a passion to work withing the motor industry.

The Finance Assistant will report in to the Accountant.

The purpose of the role is to support the Accountant in all areas, provide a point of contact for the Head of Business in the absence of the accountant and produce detailed, accurate and timely balance sheet and ledger reconciliations.


Finance Assistant Responsibilities:


  • To be responsible for all aspects of the accounting processes for review by the accountant.
  • To prepare the daily bank reconciliation as required, check daily end of day reports and intercompany payments.
  • To post monthly prepayments and accruals, advertising costs, intercompany transfer and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
  • To prepare the monthly head office sales ledger reports and departmental expense analysis.
  • To chase payment of debts and maintain a healthy debt profile for all accounts that fall under your responsibility.
  • To complete the quarterly VAT return and any other reports as and when required.
  • To raise daily cheques and credit card refunds.

Finance Assistant Requirements:


  • Ideally AAT Qualified or working towards
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in similar role
