As our Design Advisor, you will provide crucial input to projects, leveraging product and system opportunity supporting our specification, design, contracting and housebuilding customers both directly and indirectly through our sales teams.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Proactive technical and design support support for the Ibstock brick salesforce
  • Key focus on supporting wider and more impactful specification activity to increase the spec winning work conversion throughout the UK
  • Collaborate with our external salesforce effectively to win the projects that count and improve conversion
  • Developing new relationships with specifically targeted practices
  • Actively manage knowledge transfer to our external customers through CPD and to our internal customers through tailored training including IBU
  • Collaborate with the UK university school of Architecture network to embed brick product and systems into the next generation of Architects and designers
  • Provide technical support for NPD**
    Skills/Experience:
  • The ability to read 2D and 3D drawings
  • Architectural/structural detailing and/or product brickwork system design/detailing
  • Proficiently trained and able to use AutoCAD (or similar)
  • Strong brick, brick system and brick component knowledge
  • Ability to lead and support project design meetings
  • Good activity/project reporting skills
  • A good understanding of BIM and associated standards
  • A good understanding on industry drivers and impacts such as sustainability, building regulations etc
  • A good knowledge and experience working with structural masonry and/or façade calculations
