Our client is a global company operating at the forefront of the information age, employing 90,000 people in 180countries. They are looking to recruit an International Trade Compliance Specialist to join the Ethics and Compliance team.
The successful person will be accountable for shaping and delivering the ITC strategy and Internal Compliance Program (ICP), owning the ITC strategic projects and delivering the project objectives to underpin the ITC strategy and ICP.
You will keep up to date with international trade laws and regulations and advise the business on any new or changes to law that affects the ITC risk profile as well as carrying out ITC assurance activites necessary to asses the effectiveness of the ICPcontrols and that thecompliance status is within risk tolerances.
Other areas will include:
- Development and delivery of ITC training and communications across the organisation.
- Maintaining functional specialist knowledge through CPD, corporate events and communications
- Providing ITC counsel to business leadership, 1st line business teams and 2nd line functional teams
- Being responsible for calling out compliance risks with senior leaders within the company and challenging thinking and holding the business to account.
You will:
Hold recognised international trade qualification/s (export control, sanctions or customs) or be well-advanced in achieving this; or possess sufficient equivalent specialist knowledge and experience.
Have story-telling expertise with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences.
Be able to analyse complex multi-layeredbusiness situations, identify ITC risks and issues and communicate their implications clearly to key stakeholders in non-technical language.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work autonomously and deliver the role accountabilities on time and on budget.
Have a minimum of four years' experience working in international trade covering export controls, sanctions and customs discipline and have experience of working within a team delivering legal and regulatory compliance.
