Health and Safety Advisor
We are a local family business, who have been operating in skip hire and waste management for nearly 60 years.
Health and safety is a key concern in the recycling and waste management industry and here at Thompson Waste Ltd we pride ourselves with our current health and safety practices.
However, we are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor and you will be responsible for implementing and reviewing the highest standards of Health & Safety at our Yard in Hendon.
Duties:
- Responsible for improving developing maintaining and implementation of all areas of the company's Health & Safety policies
- Liaising with staff to ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures
- Ensure staff receive adequate assistance, training & support to enable them to implement Health & Safety effectively
- Ensure all accidents and dangerous occurrences are reported and investigated
- Monitoring of the site and undertaking audits where required with respect to Environmental, Health & Safety
- Reporting to the Director with respect to Environmental, Health & Safety, Sub-Contractor performance and training requirements for staff.
Skills:
- Previous experience working in Waste Management
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
- Qualified to IOSH level
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proactive and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Job Type:
Part-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
