About the role:


You will effectively co-ordinate the integration of the provision of local bus and home to school transport functions for Powys County Council, ensuring that 'value for money' is firmly embedded in the principles of the service delivery.


You will provide technical knowledge in the planning and delivery of the function to meet both statutory and the Council's standards and regulations.


To lead the public transport team and develop and implement policy and marketing procedures, working across the County to deliver an integrated transport service, including cross border.


Develop transport solutions and work with community transport operators and other key stakeholders in Powys to ensure effective collaboration in the delivery of public transport services.

You will need to work effectively with the Lead Officer School Transport, Mainstream & Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

What you will do:


  • You will lead the provision/delivery of local bus services in Powys.
  • You will manage the Councils Concessionary Fare Scheme (circa £1m per annum) on behalf of the Welsh Government.
  • You will monitor service budgets and report to the Passenger Transport Manager periodic expenditure.
  • Assist with the delivery of key transport infrastructure projects.
  • Manage the corporate marketing and promotion of public transport services across the County
