Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role


The main purpose of this role is to take minutes in child protection conferences using a laptop and to record the information within the meeting.

Responsible for the provision of an efficient administration and minuting service to ensure the efficient running of SCU. Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role.


Key responsibilities:

  • Arranging of meetings by ensuring invitation letters are distributed within procedural timescales.
  • Attend Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, LADO Strategy Meetings and other statutory meetings to minute (using a laptop) and produce accurate records following discussion.
  • Ensure child protection plans and all minutes from meetings are produced and distributed within procedural timescales.
  • Ensure that accurate performance data is inputted on to Mosaic following all Child Protection Conferences and LADO Strategy Meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate records on the social care database adhering to national and LA guidance on confidentiality and informationsharing.
  • Administrative tasks relating to the arrangement of the Foster Carers Annual Reviews.
  • Assist the Business Support Coordinator in the monitoring of Business Support procedures.
  • Responsibility for maintaining and updating manual and computerised information systems ensuring information used by the service is accurate and to assist with the auditing of data quality.

Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSE'S at Grade C or above or grades (19) or equivalent and/or experience.

Experience:


  • Minute taking skills and experience essential.
  • Experience in convening, servicing and minuting meetings.
  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.

Skills & Abilities:


  • Able to work on own initiative, organise and prioritise your workloads to ensure timescales are met.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet systems.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills demonstrating a high standard of accuracy.
  • Able to input, retrieve, collate and present information from computerised and manual systems and have excellent IT and typing skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
