About The Role
Gloucestershire County Council is currently seeking an independent vice-chair for their fostering panel.

Gloucestershire has a large fostering service and is significantly investing in its fostering provision in order to increase the number of looked after children placed with in-house foster carers.


The vice chair will be offered a minimum commitment to chair six times per year; alongside this the applicant may at their choosing sit as a fostering panel member (remuneration at fostering panel member fee).

Remuneration:
£530 per full day panel or £265 per half day panel inclusive of all preparation and post panel work. Reasonable travel expenses will be considered within a 150 mile radius.


About You


We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual, with excellent communication skills, to provide effective leadership to successfully chair complex panel meetings within a clear anti-discriminatory framework.


You will play a vital role in the quality assurance of our service by working closely with the Panel Advisers, the Panel Chair and Vice-Chair to ensure the smooth running of the panel process.


To ensure you are fully supported in this role we offer meetings with Agency Advisors, Chair and Vice-Chair and you will have access to online and in-person training and development opportunities.

You will have an annual appraisal undertaken by the Panel Chair with support from the Agency Advisers.
