Description
Female required to provide assistance to a female wheelchair user in her own home.No previous experience necessary as full on the job training will given.
The role will involve using a sling and mobile hoist and will require you to drive the client regularly in her automatic, wheelchair adapted car, locally and sometimes on motorways around the North West.
Care required to cover longer shifts, 16hrs to 42 hrs as required. A set rota can be agreed with the applicant.(Average 40 hrs paid every week at £10.50 per hour starting rate)
- The role includes:
- Personal care
- assisting and enabling service users to dress, undress, wash, use the toilet and shower as required. Hair-styling, nail trimming and skin care included as necessary.
- Cook and serve meals to service users at the table or in bed, and assist with feeding if required.
- Generally assist with service users overall comfort and well being
- Help with daily activities such as dealing with mail, bill payments, shopping and returns, errands
- Undertake cleaning, ironing and domestic duties within and around the home
- Encourage the service user to engage in social and leisure activities (taking client to see family or helping her to prepare a meal for them at home, going on walks with the client and her dog, being out socially etc)
- Monitor service users condition by taking temperature, pulse and noting medical appointments and outcomes.
Paid every 4th Friday via BACS.
During sleepover shifts, you sleepover in the client's home in a separate room. Breaks must be taken within or around the client's home.
