Location:
HMP Bullingdon, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX25 1PZ

Hours:
Up to 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary:
Up to £37,000 per annum - Subject to experience

Apprenticeships:

MK College Group have an exciting new opportunity for a creative Functional Skills Tutor to join the team based at HMP Bullingdon, Bicester.


As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based students in Functional Skills Maths - with creative classes and resources.

Many of the students have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will have often had a negative experience with education.

As a successful Tutor for Functional Skills Maths, you will truly inspire them and provide students with a positive learning experience.

We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with students to inspire and motivate them. The
average class consists of 12 students, supported by a student mentor. The sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.

ABOUT
HMP Bullingdon
Bullingdon Community Prison is situated near the village of Arncott in Bicester, Oxon. HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has several functions. It is categorized as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function.

HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.

The College works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver short to medium courses that help prepare learners for employment upon release


Courses include:

English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), ESOL, ICT, Barista, Hospitality, Business, Self-Employment, Personal Development, Art, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, General Maintenance Skills, Mentoring and Barbering.
