You'll proactively monitor, analyse and communicate emerging Regulatory and Safety intelligence that may impact Reckitt's business activities in order to enable Reckitt decision making forums.

Ingredient Governance is a critical and strategic part of the RAS function and our work ensures Reckitt delivers innovative solutions for healthier lives and happier homes and to make ingredient decisions that will be right for our consumers and right for the environment.

Your role spans across the entire Reckitt portfolio and therefore several regulatory landscapes and requirements globally.

Your responsibilities:


  • Provide detailed Regulatory and Safety reviews and risk assessments of emerging external developments (e.g., from Regulatory intelligence, suppliers, retailers, litigation, policy/regulation, public relations, reputational, sustainability, or safety concerns), scoping and triaging intelligence into a clear recommendation of actions to the ISG Technical Committee
  • Lead assigned ingredient review workstreams ensuring delivery in line with committed timelines and good communication with the wider ISG Technical Committee
  • Drive the prioritisation of ingredient reviews in partnership with other members of ISG Technical Committee. Ensure delivery of crossfunctional (6 Pillar) reviews with clear conclusions and recommendations on program roadmap (ie into Restricted Substance List (RSL) program, Category Strat plans or Business Compliance Plans).
  • Authoring of internal Corporate and/or R&D policies and guidance to maintain Reckitt's current and future freedom to operate and advance the adoption of safer and more sustainable ingredients.
  • Provide scientific expertise to help shape Reckitt's ingredient governance strategy & ambitions.
  • Lead assigned projects. Inspires the ISG Technical Committee to take ownership and deliver project results.
  • Ensure full compliance of activities with ISG Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Provide project management to ISG Technical Committee through indirect people management.
  • Ensure KPIs assigned to the ISG Technical Committee are met throughout and recommend appropriate future KPIs and Metrics to drive efficiencies further in line with agreed ISG governance strategy.

The experience we're looking for:


  • Preferably BSc/MSc in a scientific discipline
  • Relevant risk assessment experience
  • An understanding of the classification and labelling principles under CLP/GHS preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading the safety/toxicology assessment of Consumer Healthcare products, FMCG and ingredients.
  • Experienced in technical leadership with proven ability to lead and motivate others.

  • Ability to consistently deliver to time, cost and quality standards in a highpressure environment.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret toxicological data and documents within a formal risk assessment.
