About the postholder
We are looking for seasoned communications professional to join our growing agency.


Fundamentally, you will be a team player, who shares our core values and has a desire to add value to our organisation and the work that we do.


You will be an experienced and skilled communications specialist with a proven track record of delivering successful communications, engagement and public relations services.

Your use of the English language will be impeccable, and you will be adept in writing, speaking and developing messaging and materials appropriate to both the audience and the channels you are using.

You will be skilled in gaining insight to target and understand audiences, and have the ability to tailor your work accordingly to elicit buy-in as well as drive the desired behaviours and perceptions.


Whilst you will be hard-working and focused on delivering a great service which is timely and responsive, you will also be committed to involving people and bringing them along with you.

You will be adept at building mutually beneficial relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues and others, and have a proven team player with a coaching, supportive style.

You will be proactive in helping team members, as well as seeking out opportunities to support their development - particularly where colleagues have less experience and wish to develop new skills.


You will be open and transparent in your approach to work, and candid with managers and colleagues about issues that may arise and how both you and the team can learn from these experiences.

About the post


Working as part of our busy team, you will provide first-rate communications, engagement and PR services to our clients - services which are both proactive and responsive.

You will actively seek out opportunities to deliver better value for our clients and make arrangements to respond accordingly.

As well as delivery, you will provide advice, support and guidance on all related aspects to clients as well as to other members of the MIH team where required.


You will also maximise commercial opportunities for MIH, helping to grow the business, generate interest in our services and convert this interest into orders.

You will actively help to strengthen our brand and reputation.


With respect both to clients and to MIH, core duties will include:

  • PR management, including identifying opportunities, drafting press statements and developing social media messaging
  • Media management and handling, including engaging with journalists to promote news, responding to media enquiries and chaperoning
  • Supporting provision of an effective client press office function
  • Crisis and issues management
  • Briefing spokespeople, providing guidance on media handling and contributing to media training activities
  • Stakeholder management and development
  • Developing content, writing, collating and editing newsletters and other written communications
  • Reputation management, development and safeguarding
  • Developing case studies, including seeking out opportunities and undertaking relevant interviews, e.g. with staff and customers
  • Managing and supporting events, focus groups and other engagement activities
  • Measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of all activities, including contributing to client updates and other reports
  • Campaign and project development, management, delivery and evaluation
  • Supporting the undertaking of research, insight and evaluation to understand client/ stakeholder perceptions, needs and preferences as well as measure the effectiveness of MIH activities, including focus groups, interview and surveys
