We are looking for a ROV Technical Support Specialist to join the Fleet & Equipment team within our Projects & Offshore Operations business area in Aberdeen.


As part of a team, the role holder will be responsible for the Mobile Equipment Group fleet of ROV equipment.

They will ensure that the equipment operates as per technical specification, is maintained as per Subsea7's maintenance processes, is mobilised with all relevant documentation, and will provide technical assistance when required while the equipment is operational.


Reporting to the Mobile Equipment Technical Support Lead, the role will mainly involve the management of maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrade projects of ROV equipment.

Alongside role relevant technical knowledge, effective communication and collaboration skills are a

key element to this role, which will liaise closely with equipment, workshop, fleet, operations technical and engineering teams. Also liaising with external service providers and manufacturers.


What will you be doing?

  • Primary responsibility is for the readiness and support of Offshore Resources Mobile ROV Equipment.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of company's preventative planned maintenance and certification programme.
  • Provision of technical assistance to all Company departments on all aspects of maintenance for Mobile ROV Equipment.
  • Assisting in setting annual maintenance budget.
  • Support of equipment maintenance onshore by working with regional workshops, to achieve required work scopes in a timely and costeffective manner.
  • During all maintenance activities, liaise with and communicate the equipment status to the Mobile Equipment Technical Support Team Lead.
  • The management and maintenance of documentation relating to the safe operation and reliability of equipment, including but not limited to Risk Assessments, Management of Change records, Drawings, Maintenance Instructions, Financial Reports, Specifications, and Photographic Records.
  • Responsibility for direct liaison with primary equipment vendors to ensure maintenance and modification works are carried out in a technically correct manor.
  • To have a working knowledge of Rules and Regulations and ensure ongoing legislative compliance of existing Group Assets.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of onshore maintenance performed via designated maintenance system.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Mobile Equipment Technical Support Team Lead.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Educated to degree level is preferred, a nationally recognised qualifications such as an HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would also be considered alongside role relevant experience.
  • Relevant onshore/offshore technical experience in the maintenance, repair, or manufacture of ROV Equipment.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to selfmanage and work under own initiative.
  • Disciplined and systematic approach to workload management with proven ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proven ability to collate detailed technical reports, plans, & specifications.
  • In depth technical working knowledge of maintenance systems such as TM Master or SAP.
  • Previous experience of drawing interpretation/validation and responsibility for key documentation approval and management.
