Marvel Bookkeeping Ltd is expanding, and we're in search of a dedicated team member to help us achieve our goal of being the premier Bookkeeping service in Dorset.

Immediate start available.


Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:


  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with individual clients, ensuring their financial needs are met and queries addressed promptly.
  • Daily Bookkeeping: Accurately record financial transactions, ensuring all entries are up to date.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Regularly match and compare account balances in the books to those of bank statements, rectifying any discrepancies.
  • VAT & CIS Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with local regulations. Handle Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns, ensuring all deductions are correctly made and reported.
  • Payroll Administration: Process monthly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Stay updated with any changes in payroll regulations and tax codes.
  • Credit Control: Monitor client accounts for delayed payments, send reminders, and liaise with clients to ensure timely settlements.
  • Liaise with clients: You will have responsibility for your own clients and will be dealing with them directly on a regular basis and will always be looking for ways to assist them.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, especially Xero.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Although rare, you must be willing to meet with clients if the need ever arises.

Compensation:


  • Competitive salary ranging from £24k to £28k, based on experience and expertise. Regular performance reviews ensure that your hard work is recognized and rewarded.

£24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
