Purchase Ledger Clerk


Location:
Carlisle

Full time, to start ASAP.


Salary: 24k to 25k.

Applicants require excellent IT skills, competent in Microsoft Office and open to being taught new software packages.


An experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk, who is a team player and can also use their own initiative to work productively unsupervised.


Ideally a minimum of 12 months recent experience working in a similar role, be personable and empathetic to our client's needs.

Confidential manner, excellent communication skills and be able to manage a varied and busy workload.

Working as part of the Administrative team you will be expected to undertake general office duties in an organized manner, including but not limited to:

  • Processing invoices from a database of suppliers
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid to agreed payment dates
  • Working to individually agreed targets, ensuring accuracy and consistency is upheld
  • Reconciling data from multiple sources, ensuring that debit balances and unapproved invoices are kept at a minimum, and that all volumes are reviewed for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations requesting copy invoices as required
  • Responding to supplier queries promptly and efficiently to ensure resolution and therefore no delays to supplier payment dates
  • Managing the Purchase Ledger reporting outputs
  • Supporting the Purchase Ledger Month End close processes, including accrual calculations and postings
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable to general ledger investigating, reporting on and resolving any discrepancies or queries encountered as required.
  • Ensure constant and effective communication with the team, wider business, and external stakeholders is maintained to ensure efficiency
  • Data entry on internal and external software
  • Administering helpdesk queries
  • Updating client job tracking portals

Job Requirements:

  • Numeracy skills to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
  • A confident and professional telephone manner

£24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
