We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Controller on Back End Day shift the Bakery meets all Food Safety, Legality, Quality and Customer Codes of Practice, gathering and maintaining records, and offering support and advice to Production Operatives in line with the Quality Management System.


Key Accountabilities

  • Generate daily quality performance reports
  • Sign in and out tool boxes ensuring high integrity standards with no foreign body risks
  • Organise and coordinate taste panels (fresh, frozen, EOL) ensuring feedback to lines and corrective actions agreed and implemented
  • Maintaining the BOC swab schedule ensuring timely completion of swab activities
  • Maintaining the water sampling schedule ensuring timely completion and aseptic sampling
  • Egg sprayer and general post hygiene swabbing and swab sample submission
  • Air quality monitoring through sampling and submitting samples in good condition for testing
  • Foreign body removal system checks e.g. Kek sieves, magnets, metal detectors etc.
  • Temperature monitoring product and storage area temperatures
  • Goods In checks on raw materials and packaging
  • Maintaining the calibration schedule ensuring all applicable monitoring equipment (e.g. egg probes, scales etc.) are calibrated within the agreed frequencies
  • CCP, GMP and integrity auditing in line with schedules for all areas producing fully documented audits against Gunstones' internal procedures/COP and CCP procedures
  • Report compliances and noncompliances to production
  • Agree corrective action and timescales with the relevant Section Leaders/Section Managers/Departmental Managers (depending on severity) and document actions
  • Highlight technical integrity risks and reoccurring issues of noncompliances to the QA Team Leader
  • The computerised nonconformance database to be completed for all nonconformances raised at the time of audit, all nonconformances to be followed up by the originator and closed out
  • Documentation and completion of the Hold/Reject log for any nonconforming materials. Actioning Defective material reports, putting product on hold/rejecting and actioning food Safety issues with fully signed off incident reports
  • Assist the QA Manager during external audits
  • Full indepth investigation of customer complaints to be carried out within the agreed timescales set with the QA Manager
  • Attend preproduction of new products. Liaise with the process team to learn product standards agreed by the customer
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the QA Manager or Technical Manager
  • Deliver KPI targets agreed with the QA Manager
  • Deputise for the QA Manager.
